Apremilast

Apremilast is a medication used to used to treat psoriasis and the joint pain and tenderness of psoriatic arthritis.

Apremilast works by inhibiting an enzyme called phosphodiesterase-4 (PDE4) that is involved in the body’s inflammatory response. Apremilast belongs to a class of drugs known as phosphodiesterase-4 inhibitors.

Taking Apremilast

Apremilast is available in 10 mg, 20 mg, and 30 mg oral tablets.

It can take up to 16 weeks for Apremilast to work. It is important for patients starting Apremilast to keep taking the medicine regularly in order to give it a chance.
